Well 2020 has certainly been a year of challenges – a global pandemic that will go down in the annals of history for evermore. I’m a real holiday person, taking my ‘down-time’ super seriously and was determined to snatch a few days in the sun if at all possible. I took my determination to whole new level on a day off from work. After a little shopping, whilst enjoying a well-earned coffee break, I suddenly decided to join the queue for the travel agents. I was in such a hurry that I managed to leave my purchases in the café opposite, but that’s another story….
Credit card in hand, I asked the agent to find me a safe week in the sun, all-inclusive, as cheap as possible. Thirty minutes later, I left the agency feeling rather pleased with myself and embarked upon some holiday shopping. Canary Islands here I come!
To say that the holiday was an impulse purchase has to be the understatement of the year as a couple of hours after booking, I started worrying. How would I stay safe on the aeroplane? Would the hotel be clean? How could I minimise and manage any risk to my health? As I had booked the holiday with a little over 5 days’ notice to departure, I quickly began to search for resources and guidance. Here are a few of my concerns:
- Would the aeroplane be sanitised and hygienically cleaned in-between flights?
- Would hand gel be available on boarding the flight?
- What about masks? Would they be compulsory at all times on the flight?
- What precautions would be in place at the hotel? Would all surfaces be hygienically clean?
Essentially, I just wanted to feel safe and as I work for AF International, I decided to equip myself with my own suit of armour in the form of Anti-bac+ products. Packing for this last minute holiday was the most unusual packing experience ever; (I do consider myself a seasoned traveller….). Along with the swimwear and evening outfits, I packed the large (500ml) refill of AF Anti-bac+ Hand Rub for use on holiday and decanting into smaller beach bag sized bottles; next on the list, a tub of Anti-bac+ Sanitising Screen Wipes. I saved the Anti-bac+ Surface Wipes for my hand luggage along with a travel friendly size (50ml) of the Hand Rub.
I desperately needed to feel safe on my travels and put the products to good use immediately. After touching the hand luggage tray in the airport security, I sanitised my hands with my travel size gel. Hand gel or rub was not supplied to passengers boarding the aeroplane and I remember feeling immense relief that I had planned ahead. I even dispensed some hand rub for my fellow passengers and air crew to use knowing that I could top up my travel bottle from the 500ml refill in my suitcase.
The Anti-bac+ Sanitising Surface Wipes proved an absolute gift both during the flight (using it to sanitise my seat, arm rests and tray), during the transfer from airport to hotel, and during the holiday. In fact, I developed quite a daily routine in my hotel room, ensuring that all surfaces had been sanitised.
Precious items of technology that have frankly saved my sanity during lockdown could be quickly and safely cleaned using Anti-bac+ Screen Wipes. I carried my travel size hand rub absolutely everywhere and used it extensively after usual hand-washing, enabling me to feel safe and enjoy the holiday vibe.
My week in the sun was relaxing and enjoyable as I could remain safe in the knowledge that my AF Anti-bac+ products would work with proven efficacy. I ventured out on holiday to enjoy the odd cocktail, but did not rely upon the public dispensers of hand rub, finding the consistency poor with no proven results. I’m proud that I could fly the flag for AF International and enjoyed the reassurance of my invisible suit of armour. AF Anti bac+ Sanitising products have been proven to kill up to 99.999% of bacteria and viruses including Norovirus, Coronavirus, Ebola, SARS, Influenza, Rubella, Measles, Rabies, Candida Albicans, P.Aeruginosa, S.Aureus, E.Hirae, E coli and much more. The Anti-bac+ range is our advanced defence formula and has been tested and approved to standards EN1500, EN1276, EN1650, EN14476:2013 + A1:2015.
The scariest part of the entire week was reading a news announcement relating to quarantine for passengers flying back into the UK but luck was firmly on my side as I arrived back into the UK 24 hours before the mandatory quarantine. Talk about a close shave!
